Calling the community of Castle – come to our annual picnic in the park and public arts project

People from all over the town are invited to come down to Victoria Park and Foot Meadow this weekend for a day filled of food, art, activities, beauty treatments and sport.

Just bring yourself and bite to eat to join in with Castle ward’s annual Picnic in the Park, which is taking place from 12pm until 4pm this Saturday, 15 May. People can also visit the Cultural Walkway Community Public Arts Project between 11am and 1pm on Foot Meadow, which is the area next to the river behind St James Retail Park.

Racecourse play area grand opening set to bring communities together

Children who like adventures and playing are sure to be wowed by the new £85,000 adventure play space on Northampton’s Racecourse that will be officially opening on Friday, 14 May.

£2 fee postponed so young people can enjoy holiday swimming

A small yearly administration charge of £2 has been brought in for the free swimming initiative card but Northampton Borough Council is postponing the introduction of the fee at its three leisure centres until Monday, 19 April, after the Easter school holidays.

Now neighbourhoods can get involved in this year's Bloom competition

People in neighbourhoods across Northampton are getting ready to dig-in and get growing to turn Northampton into a Blooming success this summer.

This weekend (March 27/28) will see the launch of a number of community planting projects that will be entered into the ‘It’s Your Neighbourhood’ award for Britain in Bloom 2010.

On Saturday March 27, local community groups, volunteers, school children and residents will be kicking off the Far Cotton and Briar Hill entry with the ‘ceremonial’ planting of the first plants.
