New Saturday roller skating sessions at Danes Camp

Brand new roller skating sessions for young people are starting at Danes Camp Leisure Centre on March 6 and will be held on the first Saturday of each month.

8 to 11 year olds can have fun skating to music between 3.30pm and 5pm and the session for 11 to 16 year olds is between 5.30pm and 7pm. The sessions have been scheduled for later in the day so that it’s perfect for the whole family to unwind after a busy day round the shops. Mums and dads can relax with a cup of tea and slice of cake in the diner whilst the children skate off the rest of their energy.

The Sports Development team from Northampton Borough Council are appealing to local coaches and sports clubs to get in touch with them. They want as many people as possible to take advantage of a number of free workshops at a Club Development Evening being held on Tuesday, 9 March from 6pm at The Northampton Academy.

Toxic smoke will affect your ability to breathe, a sensation similar to drowning

Drowning in the smoke of a house fire is the risk you take if you do not have a working smoke alarm

Testing your smoke alarm every week could make the difference in protecting your home and loved ones

People vastly underestimate the impact of toxic smoke

How long do you think you could survive in a smoke filled room?
