Kingsley Conservation Area Re-appraisal

The conservation team, at Northampton Borough Council, are carrying out a re-appraisal of Kingsley Conservation Area. A Draft Appraisal and Management Plan document is available for consultation.

Castle Ward Safer Community Team - January Update

The top priority for the Castle Ward's Neighbourhood Renewal Programme, in which we have an active role, is reducing street prostitution in the area. We have been doing a lot of work to tackle this and here is the latest update about the work the partnership has been doing to address the issue and some of the successes we have had.

• Two more Change* courses took place in December and January, attended by 19 men charged with kerb crawling. In addition, a further 15 people have been caught kerb crawling since the last news update.

The All-New Millers Meadow!

Millers Meadow - Summer 2007

Last year, Semilong was lucky enough to be selected to receive Government funding for the regeneration of Millers Meadow, our park on St Andrews Road. The park had become rundown and desperately needed some attention. There was limited play equipment and many people who live locally were not using the park at all.

Public consultation followed at the Community Centre, in Semilong Community Forum meetings and even outside the Co-op. After local opinions were gathered, the plans were further refined and developed.
