Anyone with a real Christmas tree can bring it to one of Northampton Borough Council's shredding events for composting.
The first is on Wednesday, 6 January at B & Q on Towcester Road between 10am and 3pm. The second is on Saturday, 9 January at Billing Garden Store, The Causeway also between 10am and 3pm.
For people who can’t make those two days, they can recycle their Christmas tree by putting it in the skip that will be available at Billing Garden Store from 4 until 11 January or take it to the Household Waste Recycling Centres.
If you live in a black sack collection area you can bag up your cuttings and arrange for its collection by calling the Customer Contact Centre. Up to ten bags of garden waste at a time can be collected in this way for composting. This service is free of charge and available at any time of the year.
If you require any further information please call the Customer Contact Centre on 01604 838281 or e-mail recycling@northampton.gov.uk.
