Brand new roller skating sessions for young people are starting at Danes Camp Leisure Centre on March 6 and will be held on the first Saturday of each month.

8 to 11 year olds can have fun skating to music between 3.30pm and 5pm and the session for 11 to 16 year olds is between 5.30pm and 7pm. The sessions have been scheduled for later in the day so that it’s perfect for the whole family to unwind after a busy day round the shops. Mums and dads can relax with a cup of tea and slice of cake in the diner whilst the children skate off the rest of their energy.

Approximately 60 places are available during each session so to avoid disappointment it’s recommended to call 01604 837 200 and book a place in advance. It costs just £3.50 and includes the hire of skates.

Young people from Sport 4 Youth applied to Money 4 Youth for grant funding to subsidise the sessions, enabling them to go ahead at a low cost charge.
